What Matters To God When You Pray?

1. Your RELATIONSHIPS Matter.

Mark 11:24-25 (ERV)

24 So I tell you to ask for what you want in prayer. And if you believe that you have received those things, then they will be yours. 25 When you are praying and you remember that you are angry with another person about something, forgive that person. Forgive them so that your Father in heaven will also forgive your sins.”

1 Peter 3:7 (NIV)

7 Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.

2. Your MOTIVES Matter.

James 4:3 (NLT)

3 And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure.

Proverbs 16:2 (NLT)

2 People may be pure in their own eyes,
but the Lord examines their motives.

3. The Way You LIVE Matters.

James 5:16 (NIV)

16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

Proverbs 15:29 (NLT)

29 The Lord is far from the wicked,
but he hears the prayers of the righteous.

4. Your FAITH Matters.

James 1:6-7 (NIV)

6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.

Matthew 9:29-30 (NIV)

29 Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith let it be done to you”; 30 and their sight was restored. Jesus warned them sternly, “See that no one knows about this.”

5. God’s WILL Matters.

1 John 5:14-15 (NIV)

14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.

Luke 22:42-43 (NLT)

42 “Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.” 43 Then an angel from heaven appeared and strengthened him.

What Matters Most?

You Must Have An Real RELATIONSHIP With God Through Christ.

John 9:31 (NKJV)

31 Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him.
